As a Community Interest Company (CIC), Battersea Healthcare CIC (BHCIC ) is owned by the GPs of Wandsworth, whose main aim is to continually improve the experience for Wandsworth patients. Over the decade since BHCIC was formed, we have grown and developed the range of services that we directly deliver or contract.

The three providers join forces under Battersea Healthcare Community Interest Company, a non profit organisation.

Musculoskeletal (MSK ) conditions affect your bones, joints and muscles. There are over 200 MSK conditions.
MICAS clinicians are specialists in MSK conditions. They will make an assessment of your needs and can refer you to other specialties to ensure you receive the right treatment as quickly as possible.

April 2015Supporting primary care
PACT is an initiative developed by the CCG allowing practices to offer extended appointments for vulnerable patients and carers.
When a person is vulnerable to sudden deterioration and emergency hospital admission they are added to the Enhanced Care Pathway (ECP ).

Patients in Wandsworth can book routine appointments with their GP practice in the evenings and weekends at three Wandsworth 8-8 hubs.

Multispecialty Community Provider (MCP ) contract
GP practices work closely with community services such as district nurses, hospital specialists, social services and others, to deliver a wider range of services so that fewer patients go to hospital for care and treatment.

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust
As part of the MCP contract we begin to work with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust to deliver Community Adult Health Services in Wandsworth.
Age UK Wandsworth
We start to work with Age UK to deliver their Better At Home services.

Royal Trinity Hospice
We begin to work with the hospice to deliver the Wandsworth Care Coordination Service.
Marie Curie
Through the Wandsworth Care Coordination we begin to work with Marie Curie who provide overnight care by trained and qualified staff for patients in their own home.

Practices can offer cervical screening appointments outside of normal working hours.

We begin to work with Generate who make sure that people with learning disabilities are not isolated in their local community and are supported to attend health check appointments.

We begin to work with CLCH and Accelerate to support patients with wound and lymphoedema care.

December 2020Enhanced Primary Care Hub
The Enhanced Primary Care Hub at Queen Mary's Hospital is led by BHCIC , with support from St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Tudor Lodge Health Centre.
The service includes appointments with Emergency Practitioners and GPs for treatments of wounds and minor injuries providing up to 480 urgent and routine appointments each week for local people from 8am to 8pm, six days a week.

We agree with PCNs to work more closely together and form ‘Primary Care Wandsworth’ to make the best use of our shared resources and clinical expertise to jointly support and develop primary care services in Wandsworth.
